Recreating the Diag for Social Virtual Reality
2021 Michigan IT Symposium Breakout Session from Wednesday, December 15 @ 3:15 pm
This presentation will explore the creation of the Diag in 3D. We will explore a project from the XR Initiative where students recreated the Diag in 3D for social interactions. Attendees will learn about concepts like 3D modeling and texturing to generate a digital twin of campus. Colleagues from the AEC and facilities worked together to support students in this work. Participants will have a chance to visit the virtual diag in Virtual Reality or from the computers. The presentation will also explore what is next with the North Campus Grove, the Law Library, and how we will take an open source approach to building out the entire campus.
